for J. BIRD WINES / MEADERY
Description; A white wine, clean and crisp with a hint of fine Chardonnay character, reminds me of picking apples in the fall, at the orchard. Alc. 6.9%
Home grown Honey Crisp Apples provide the base juice for our Apple wines, they are picked at the peak of full flavor and ripeness and immediately but gently crushed and squeezed for the best results. Champagne yeast then go to work converting the apple sugars to the potion we love to Sip.
Description; This is the mead we have been producing for twenty-five years, using northern grown honey. After ageing for four years and naturally c leared, pours a light pale golden color , lightly floral with lots of honey in the aroma. Alc.6.9%
Taste; Lots of flavors competing for attention, they all win—honey, seedless grapes,
pear and sweet/tangy pineapple, a trace of tart green apple shows in the finish.
Excellent combination of flavors, excellent sweet & tangy balance.
As reviewed by “Beer advocate” Publication.
Description; This Mead is based on a popular Hibiscus, Honey and Lemon tea that is widely enjoyed in middle eastern countries, It pours a clear beautiful red with decent ‘legs’ on the sides of the glass, lightly tangy and mildly floral in aroma with a light fresh honey scent. Alc.6.9%
Taste; The aroma may be mild but the flavor is a very full and smooth - honey sweet, hibiscus, rose hips and lemony citrus with some undertones of sweet and tart apple in perfect balance for a full body and no trace of alcohol flavors. Outrageously drinkable as reviewed by the “Beer advocate” Publication, (check their Web-site.)
Description;
Picking at full ripeness starts the journey of this remarkable fruit,
un-bruised and plump with tangy rich juice, ready for fermentation to begin.
The quiet murmuring within the vat is a good sign
that a delicious Cherry Wine will flow for all to enjoy.
Taste; Our newest fruit wine has the sour /sweet taste of orchard fresh cherry juice,
well balanced with excellent body. This wine has become very popular at festivals.
No! this is not a cherry pit wine as the song laments. Alc.6.9%
Description; The Lady Louise (famous for her culinary skills used her expansive knowledge to assemble this blend of 9 herb & spice “Hippricras Wine”. Five varieties of Minn. Grown apples along with a dab of molasses and honey give this blend a taste incomparable when heated, the aroma floats through the air to assail your senses. Alc.6.9%
Taste; Herbs and spices from far away lands make this a very special tasting apple wine, Too many flavors to describe them all, some are up front like the cinnamon, others are hiding in the background but burst forth when heated. Sip and c lose your eyes, Mmmmmmm!
We recommend this wine to be served hot ! But caution, do not overheat
or you will caramelize the wine, Just heat until the steaming starts and enjoy.
Description; Lady Louise worked hard on the 9 spice & herb Raspberry “ Hippricas “ Wine , using all fresh ground spices and herbs. We had to wait many months to do a true taste test but then the black raspberry infused spice flavors finally spoke to us as we sampled by saying we are here, bottle us up. Alc.6.9%
Thank you Lady Louise.
Taste; Herbs and spices from far away lands make
this also a very special tasting wine, Still to many flavors and essences to describe them all, some are up front like the Raspberry /cinnamon, others are hiding in the background as before but burst foreword when heated. You must taste for yourself.
We recommend this wine to be served hot ! But caution, do not overheat
or you will caramelize the wine, Just heat until the steaming starts and enjoy.
Description; The luscious taste of fresh Raspberries,
( need we say more ) Alc. 6.9%
Home grown Black Raspberries are the king of berries,
Red and Black Raspberries provide the base flavor.
They are picked in Mid-July, fully ripened and ready to start their journey to become this wonderful Minnesota grown wine.
Description; A c lean and crisp wine with that wonderful Strawberry flavor that lingers long after the wine is gone. Alc.6.9%
Home grown fresh picked Strawberries growing on the vines provide the base juice for this wine, they are picked at the peak of full flavor and ripeness and immediately but gently crushed and squeezed for the best results.
